Parasite Identification Cards

I have been a research scientist for 15 years, first with the University of Bristol then the Royal Veterinary College, specialising in the interactions of gut parasites in South American Camelids. During this time I have also managed a Parasitology Sample Analysis Lab and tutored humdreds of Introductory Courses from my laboratory in Lyme Regis.

I have amassed a huge photo library of gut parasites and pseudo-parasites. These photographs were distilled into a couple of ‘quick check’ photos which were given to attendees at the end Introduction to Parasitology Course, to help with identification when they returned home.

I have extended this library of cards to include more type of worm eggs, coccidia, tapeworm, spores, pollens and other artefacts which can create confusion or concern in those new to microscopy and growing in experience.

The cards are labelled with the parasite type and I hope will give confidence as you embark upon your parasite journey. Unlike many of the identification books, all of these images are taken directly from alpaca faecal samples.

These cards are given to attendees on forthcoming Courses.
